One of the many gifts I received from home education was to be actively involved in everyday life, learning firsthand how Christians are to communicate, work, self-sacrifice, repent, and forgive each other daily. Working alongside a sibling or parent aids growth in the “fruits of the Spirit” as we labor together unto the Lord, and seek to honor Him with our thoughts, words, and deeds. Just as my parents uniquely disciplined me, God also disciplined and brought me to Himself. The horizontal relationship with my parents ultimately led me to the vertical relationship I have with God.
