Are you curious about homeschool testing/assessment in Colorado?
Be sure you know the law and what is required for your homeschool. It really depends on what option of the homeschool law you have chosen to follow.
- If you file a notice of intent (NOI) then you are following the Home-Based Education Program
- If you are enrolled in an independent school then you are following the Colorado non-public school law option
- If you have obtained and maintained a certified Colorado teaching license. Then no reporting or testing requirements exist for you!
Which option do you follow?
You are required to filed a Notice of Intent (NOI) with a Colorado school district then you must test/assess students in odd grades:
If you are enrolled in the CHEC Independent School then it depends on what year it is. Testing/assessment for the CHEC Independent School is required on school years ending in an odd year
(If you are enrolled in an Independent/Umbrella School other than the CHEC Independent School. Then we encourage you to check with your school to find out their testing requirements. The above information is what is required for the CHEC Independent School.)
