How was the Caterline Banquet started?
A number of years ago, Nancy Casterline and her husband Larry were helping coordinate the annual Rocky Mountain Homeschool Conference. The night before the start of the conference, Larry passed away in his sleep. Shortly after his death, Nancy established the Casterline Fund and Banquet to help, encourage, and equip other single homeschooling moms.

From Paula, a 2021 attendee – “A couple nights ago, I sat in a room with about a dozen single, homeschooling moms. There was so much pain that I sensed in that room. Pain from a failed marriage, the death of a spouse, death of a loved one, loss of relationships, children turned against God and Mom, children confused about their gender, the struggle of trying to keep it all together, being overwhelmed with everyday life – so much pain. But in that pain, so much strength and faith in God. Often strength unrealized and strength that is weary, but strength that keeps going day after day. Us single, homeschooling moms often feel unseen, unheard, and unappreciated. Thank you CHEC… for seeing us and hearing us and appreciating us!! The Casterline Banquet is a place where you see, hear, appreciate, and offer us hope and encouragement. It means more to us than you know! I know I always feel very pampered and loved, and I think I speak for all the moms that attended. Thank you, CHEC, for everything you do to support single, homeschooling moms!!”
