Awakening to the Danger
Hundreds of concerned citizens from all across Colorado swarmed the Capitol building two weeks ago to voice their opposition to the latest iteration of Comprehensive Human Sexuality Education (HB19-1032). In a previous post I explained more about this bill; suffice it to say it is a bad bill. At its core, this bill attempts to normalize behavior and ideology that is contrary to God’s Word. Those who testified at the public hearing were left dissatisfied, at the end of ten and half hours, with the party-line vote that pushed the bill to the next step in the process. After passing through the House Appropriations Committee on another party-line vote this week, the bill will be debated on the House floor soon. Out of all the bills presented so far this session, this one is causing people to wake up to the danger that lies before us.
The danger is a government that thinks it knows what is best for our children and knows no other way to keep children safe then to infringe on our fundamental right and responsibility to take care of our children. Representative Mullica is seriously considering sponsoring a bill to eliminate some of the vaccine exemptions currently in law. Last Friday, I was with hundreds of moms, dads, and children as we witnessed a meeting between Representative Mullica and community leaders who would oppose such a bill. No indication was given as to whether he would introduce a bill. Currently, it is my impression that a bill will be brought forth, but there is no way to know what form it will take.
The danger is real, and we need to be ready. Start by thinking through what you really believe about parental rights and religious liberty. Know why you believe what you believe and be ready to speak about it to your friends, your family, and your legislators. The truth is on our side; we need not fear!

Other Bills
- HB19-1129 Prohibit Conversion Therapy for a Minor will censor the speech of counselors, undermine a parent’s right to direct the mental health care of their child, and leave vulnerable children wounded and stuck in an immoral lifestyle. This bill will be heard in House Public Health Care & Human Services Committee today.
- HB19-1120 Youth Mental Health Education & Suicide Prevention will allow children as young as 12 years old to contract with a mental health provider without parental consent. It will also create a resource bank, curricula, and state standards for mental health education and suicide prevention for elementary through secondary students. The House Public Health Care & Human Services Committee will have a hearing on this bill Tuesday, February 20th.
If any of these bills or issues concern you, please contact your legislator and make your opinion heard.
