Don’t you just love the verse?
“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Is. 40:29-31).
But sometimes, especially when we’re alone on our journey of homeschooling, we need that encouragement that we’re not alone, others are praying for us, and most of all, the Lord will give strength as we wait upon Him.
It all began with the Casterline family. Larry and Nancy Casterline, volunteers with CHEC for many years, were serving on the CHEC conference committee in 2001 when Larry passed away in his sleep the night before the conference. Shortly after Larry’s death, Nancy started the Casterline Widows Fund to help other moms who found themselves in similar situations.
CHEC continues to honor her legacy — and the legacy of hundreds of other single moms who have stepped forward in faith to homeschool their children — with our annual Casterline Widow’s Banquet.
We provide:
A beautifully prepared meal
fellowship opportunities
an encouraging message, and more!
Look around your church and your homeschool support group — if you know a single homeschool mom in your community, why not invite her to join us for the Casterline Widow’s Banquet coming up on October 21, 2016?
Have a heart to encourage single moms? We’re looking for sponsors for our upcoming Casterline Widow’s Banquet. Consider joining us today!
