Fear Not: The Anchor of our Souls is Firm and Secure
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
(Isaiah 41:10, ESV)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
(Philippians 4:6, ESV)
The governor has declared a health emergency in the state of Colorado. Gatherings have been limited to 10 people. Worship services have been canceled or have gone online. Schools are closed. The grocery store shelves have been stripped bare of many items. The legislators at the Capitol have taken a recess. The people are succumbing to and feeding on fear.
Thankfully, just this past Sunday, the President called for a national day of prayer. Take precautions to keep yourself and your family safe and healthy, absolutely. As believers in Jesus Christ, the son of the One True God, we must not succumb to fear but in all things proclaim His supremacy! God is at work and we know not what His plan is for this time.
In the prayer times at the Capitol (which have been canceled until further notice), we have been praying for God’s intervention on behalf of His people. We continually repent of the sins of His people, our state, and our nation. We constantly cry out for His mercy to relieve us of the yoke of slavery that is being thrust on us by an overbearing government. We beseech the Lord for a revival born of His Holy Spirit to sweep across our state. And we seek the light of His glory and ask that it shine through us. Join us in prayer in the Homeschool Freedom Prayer Group on Facebook!
I can with confidence say that the legislators are sensing a great pressure. I believe that pressure is from the Lord! Don’t stop praying for their redemption. During this time of chaos experienced by our legislators and all those around us, let us be the calm in the storm and let us lead them to the anchor of our souls (Hebrews 6:19).
The legislature is scheduled to return on Monday, March 30th. The committee hearing for SB20-163 School Entry Immunizations has been postponed until their return. It is important that we continue to engage with the legislators during this recess. The pressure must be kept up. Continue to call and email (see our legislative alert page for more information). Pray. God is the author of our liberties, and He is working on our behalf.
