I remember that 1993 conference. I was running a booth in the Exhibit hall and my wife, Tammy came in after hearing Mike Farris speak to a general session. I remember her coming and quoting Mike Farris saying that “fathers should also be involved in home education. ” Wow, that really hit home! It makes perfect sense, but at the time it was kind of startling to me. (as I had allowed it to be her thing) Most of the conference attendees back then were Moms. Over the last couple of decades we have seen fathers get much more involved. The conferences now have a large percentage of fathers and even many grandfathers getting involved in their family’s homeschooling journeys.
