Our CHEC ministry team has a big vision for Christ-centered, parent-directed home education here in Colorado and around the world. Each December, our executive director sends a letter to share how God is using CHEC to minister to families and what lies ahead in the coming year.
You can read the 2020 letter below (or download it here to read as a PDF).
Here are highlights from what 2020 looked like for CHEC and homeschooling in Colorado:
- During the final hours of the legislative session, SB20-163 (School Entry Immunization) was amended to exempt homeschoolers, making us the only group in Colorado who is protected from the new requirements of this bill!
- Your support allowed us to take the step of faith to invest over $60,000 to send a postcard to 280,000 households with young children, promoting homeschooling and CHEC’s free “homeschooling starter package.”
- Tremendous growth in homeschooling in Colorado and involvement with CHEC, including 56,000 unique visitors at CHEC.org, 8,000 phone calls at the CHEC office for a total of 384 phone hours, 2,000 subscribers added to our email list, and 1,000 addresses added to our postal mailing list.
Our greatest desire is to give these families a vision for discipling their children to follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. A solid commitment to biblical family discipleship is critical for sustaining homeschooling through the tough times. And we firmly believe that as parents work out this commitment in their homes, God will bring about much fruit in the lives of their children and in our nation.
If you also desire to see families embrace this vision, then we would be grateful to have you join us! Please consider standing with us for homeschool liberty and discipleship by making a donation to CHEC with your year-end giving.
We look forward to what God will do in 2021!
