Ready to start a new journey? Perhaps you’ve been homeschooling all along and are just now entering the adventure of homeschool high school. Or maybe this is your first year to homeschool. Let me tell you why I am glad my parents decided to homeschool me through my high school years, and how CHEC helped us along that journey.
As I look back, besides teaching me about Jesus, the best thing my parents ever did for me was homeschool me through high school. They had the nerve to quell all the questioning neighbors, ever-busy schedules, and internal fears.
They had the wisdom to see the teen years not only as a time for academic training — although that had its place. Instead, they grasped the opportunity these years provided for the kind of shepherding, relationship-building that’s really essential on the path to adulthood.
Along the way, CHEC — whether it be through the annual Rocky Mountain Homeschool Conference or the High School and Beyond Seminars, helped us tremendously. As you’re looking into the four years ahead — maybe with a tad bit of suspense — I would encourage you to attend the High School and Beyond Seminar September 17 in Parker.
We’re excited to be bringing out Carol Becker, HSLDA high school consultant to explain high school planning, transcripts, and more. Local homeschool parents and graduates will also be sharing on specific subjects from math and science to language arts to mentorship.
