Elections Begin with The Caucus

In Colorado, the political process begins with the caucus, and it’s happening in the next two weeks. It is the beginning of the road for candidates who want to represent you. It is the beginning of deciding the makeup and direction of your chosen political party. If you are registered as a member of a major political party, contact them and find out where and when your neighborhood caucus will be. It’s time we took seriously our duty to our country and begin at the beginning.

During the caucus, you will have an opportunity to submit a resolution to be voted on. Resolutions are a way for you to educate and alert your neighbors to issues that you care about. The more people who bring them to their caucus the greater chance it will be brought forward in the assembly process to be voted on by a larger group of people. I have written a resolution to support home education in Colorado. Please, take it to your caucus and have your neighbors vote it forward! You can also use it as a tool to see if candidates running to represent you support homeschooling freedom.

CHEC continues working to keep homeschooling free from government control. There are two concerning bills that CHEC has been watching closely. Thankfully, good progress has been made toward positive amendments to these bills. We are still working with the sponsors on these bills but may need your help in the future. Watch for potential email alerts from CHEC.
These bills are one of the reasons we must participate in every aspect of our elections. Ensuring we elect representatives who will preserve our freedoms is vital to our children’s future!
