As homeschooling grows in popularity, and increasing number of deaf or hard-of-hearing parents are joining the ranks to explore home education. We are excited to provide sign language interpreting services for parents during our annual conference, as donations allow.
Here’s what one homeschooling mom shared who is deaf:
“This past year was my first year homeschooling my 5 year old daughter. It has been a challenge, but I love it! I look forward to homeschooling both of my daughters all through high school …
“I went to the CHEC conference for the first time last year. No interpreting services were provided, so I struggled a great deal trying to read lips and lost a lot of valuable information.
“I’d love to attend the conference again this year. Sadly, I know certified sign language interpreters are not cheap. I’m thankful that a fund has been set up to help provide services for myself and other deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing impaired parents.”
Will you consider making a donation to this fund for interpreting services?
