Be sure you know the law and what is required for your homeschool. It really depends on what option of the homeschool law you have chosen to follow.
- If you file a notice of intent (NOI) then you are following the Home-Based Education Program
- If you are enrolled in an independent school then you are following the Colorado non-public school law option
- If you have obtained and maintained a certified Colorado teaching license. Then no reporting or testing requirements exist for you!
Which option do you follow?
You are required to filed a Notice of Intent (NOI) with a Colorado school district then you must test/assess students in odd grades:
- 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, or 11th grade
- Using one of the following options:
Colorado Non-Public School Law
If you are enrolled in the CHEC Independent School then it depends on what year it is. Testing/assessment for the CHEC Independent School is required on school years ending in an odd year
What school year is it currently?
- 2022-2023 = YES
- 2023-2024 = NO
- 2024-2025 = YES
- 2025-2026 = NO
- etc.
