Homeschooling can be tough! If you are reading this, you know how true that is, but you also know the blessings that come from educating your children at home!
In I Thessalonians 5:11, Paul urges the believers in Thessalonica to “…encourage one another and build one another up…” (ESV). This is why we’ve created the Mentor Mom Program: to help build up those who are just getting started on their homeschooling journeys and to encourage those who are struggling.
So how does the CHEC Mentor Mom Program work? It’s based on seasoned homeschooling moms volunteering their time and knowledge to help the ones who need it — and CHEC simply connects the two. Real people, real conversations, real answers, and real encouragement!
CHEC asks Mentor Mom volunteers to commit 3-5 hours per week of availability to answer questions via phone and virtually attend a weekly meeting with the Mentor Mom Program Director. To make scheduling easy for the mentors and mentees, we’ve created a simple, automated online program that is easy to learn and navigate, where you can plug in your availability and then mentees can choose from the time slots you noted.
As a mentor, you will be a part of a welcoming and supportive community that will help you pour into the lives of those who need that encouragement and knowledge.
If you are a veteran homeschooling mom with a heart to help others on their homeschooling journey, please consider serving in this ministry; you can fill out the volunteer application as a first step. We look forward to hearing from you!
