CHEC Spelling Bee
Open to elementary and middle school students, the CHEC Spelling Bee offers healthy competition and a fun environment for homeschool students to learn spelling. The bee will be held January 27, 2018, but now is the time to start studying! Learn more and access preparation materials here.
NSSAR Middle School Brochure Contest
Involving art, computer use, and history, this contest gives students the opportunity to process our nation’s founding documents and create an artistic display of their research. The deadline is December 15th. Learn more here, and view local contest rules here.
American Mothers 5th Grade Essay Contest
This competition asks fifth-grade students from all over the nation to share on the topic “what my mother means to me.” Essays must be turned in by December 15th. Learn more about rules, prizes, and the chance to go on to nationals here.
National History Bee
Do you have a student who loves history? The National History Bee offers homeschoolers (as well as other students) the opportunity to compete first on an online exam (taken in early January) and then, for those who pass, at Regional and National finals! Learn more about the bee here.
HSLDA Art Contest
The Home School Legal Defense Association is encouraging students to develop their creative abilities in their 2018 Winter Art Contest. Entries are accepted beginning in December, and HSLDA should be announcing soon the themes for this year! Stay tuned at hslda.org.
