Volunteer Positions

Year Round Volunteers
CHEC is volunteers - busy homeschooling families, just like you, who see a need and get involved! We thank you for helping CHEC make a difference in our state.
Conference vouchers can be earned year around by volunteering at special events (Day at the Capitol, Speech and Debate, Spelling/Geography Bees, etc.), helping with various projects (stuffing parties) and helping in the CHEC office.
CHEC encourages involvement by the whole family. Children are welcome to join in the year-round volunteer activities.

State Confernece Committee
Chairman - Responsible for one of the eight major sections of the conference (Vendor, Workshop, Registration, Facilities, Conference Office, Volunteers, Publicity, Publications) and attends conference meetings every month with written reports and updates.

Area Coordinator - Responsible for a specific area under each major category and attends conference meetings approximately every other month with written reports and updates.

Both Committee Chairmen and Area Coordinators receive a full conference pass for themselves and their immediate family, as well as other conference related benefits. Immediate family members include children, spouses and childrens grandparents.
If you're interested in a conference position, please let us know ASAP as planning goes on year round.

Conference Extras
Dress code -  In order that we do not offend the sensibilities of others, and to maintain a professional appearance, we ask that all volunteers please dress according to the following described dress code guidelines. Women wear a modest, well covering dress, jumper, or skirt and blouse. Men wear dress slacks and dress shirt.

Ribbons/Buttons  - Volunteers are given a ribbon and a conference button that identifies them as a CHEC volunteer.

Child Care - Unfortunately, we have no provision for your children during conference meetings, or at the conference; we respectfully ask that you make other arrangements for them.
